Speech and Language Therapist
I graduated from the University of Manchester in 1997 with a BSc (Hons) degree in Speech Pathology and Therapy. Since then I have worked in the NHS gaining experience and expertise in a variety of settings including clinics, special schools, mainstream schools, hearing impaired units and with cleft lip and palate clients.
I have a specialist knowledge within the area of Specific Language Impairment (SLI), and I have worked for many years within a Language Unit setting, working with children who have a wide range of severe / specific speech and language disorders.
I am registered with the Health Care Professions Council (HCPC) and I am a member of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT). I am also a member of the Association of Speech and Language Therapists in Independent Practice (ASLTIP). I hold an enhanced certificate from the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).
I am committed to helping children with a wide range of speech, language and communication needs. During therapy sessions I use a wide variety of play based, fun activities to engage children. My main aim is to support children using evidence based practice, in order for them to reach their maximum potential and to become confident communicators.
